We will state how you can obtain the information outlined within each Class. This will be either via the website, or as hard copies or other media as stated within each Class. The publications are free unless otherwise indicated within each Class by the [£]. Where information is provided at a cost the charges will be as set out in Class 14.

The National Blood Authority’s commitment to publish information excludes any information which can legitimately be withheld under the exemptions set out in the NHS Openness Code or the Freedom of Information Act. Where individual classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons are, the protection of commercial interests, personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998 and, information that might be prejudicial to the conduct of public affairs or national security. These exemptions may be applied to any of the Classes within the Publication Scheme.
The Publication Scheme will be available in both hard copy and on our website.

1. Who we are and how we fit into the NHS
Details of the National Blood Authority’s organisational structures and Board and Executive Members, and documents outlining how we fit into the NHS structure.

2. Corporate information
Corporate public reports for example, policies, minutes of Board meetings and corporate plans

3. Financial and funding information
Funding details, policies, procedures and financial accounts

4. National Blood Authority Performance: aims, targets and achievements
Information on how the National Blood Authority monitors and manages its performance.

5. Our services
The range of services that we provide and how we deliver them.

6. Supporting improvement
Details of frameworks and systems in place to support and improve service outcomes.

7. Independent enquires and other parties reports
List of independent reports about the National Blood Authority.

8. Human resources
Principal employment policies and procedures

9. Public health
The public health issues relating to donors, and to patients who receive products and services from the National Blood Authority.

10. Estate and environmental information
Our estate and land holdings and their uses. Information published as a result of the Environmental Information Regulations, any Environmental Enforcement action and associated information (see also Introduction to Publication Scheme).

11. Publications and press releases
Principal publications and press releases, and how to contact the press office

12. Enquiries and complaints procedures
How to contact us with general enquiries, complaints and details of frequently asked questions.

13. Principal policies and procedures
Principal policies and procedures in use within the National Blood Authority which are not found in other classes.

14. Our Publication Scheme
In this class we will publish any changes we make to the Publication Scheme, including the criteria on which our information management policies are made, and a referral point for all enquires regarding information management generally in the National Blood Authority. We will publish review dates of documents released under the Publication Scheme, where available.
