Group A positive blood

Always in demand, group A makes your donations vital

35% of the population, you included, have blood group A Rh positive. 7% of the population, have blood group A Rh negative. That makes a combined total of 42% of the population having blood group A.

Of all the people needing blood at any given time, Group A will be needed by almost half of them. And because stocks only last a limited time, this makes it important that you continue to give on a regular basis.

We can guarantee that your blood will make an amazing difference. Whether it's used to treat patients in an emergency, or in cancer treatment and in planned operations like hip replacement, or to help a mother and baby in childbirth, it could be the difference between life and death.

You can give blood three times a year. So we hope you'll make doing something amazing a regular habit.

Conrad

The first ever donor awards ceremony held in Truro had a very special guest of honour - a 10-year-old boy who owes his life to blood donors. Conrad Lobb (picture above), who is suffering from a sarcoma tumour, knows first hand how vital blood donors are and he wanted to thank personally the 50 Cornish donors who had come along to receive awards for commitment to blood donoring.
